freddy and krasnaya movie review

F: Broken, broken, broken, broken, completely broken in the feelz this movie has left me. What can I say about this? It's an amazing debut from director Rufus Norris. He tells us a very complex human story of action and consequence surrounding 3 families from the same neighborhood, focusing our attention mainly on the little diabetic angel Eloise Laurence.

K: Absolutely fantastic film that opens up all of your feelings and washes your soul. My heart was beating way faster while watching this film. Feeelz, feelz and feelz. The story telling is wonderful. I totally liked those past and future flashbacks of the main character, Skunk. It's intriguing. I was always awake and alert and at the same time getting emotional, because of so many powerful scenes. I really felt that I was a part of this rounded neighborhood, with those 3 families that were uniquely broken.

Watch Tim Roth talk about the movie here:

K: This is a story about being a father, a father who loves his children. Sometimes blind love can destroy others' lives. Skunk (Eloise Laurence) is an absolutely adorable, innocent and deeply kind 11-year-old girl who becomes a witness to cruelty, lies, and things that she can't understand or accept. But she still doesn't break with all of this, which makes you believe that kindness will always win. That in the mist of darkness there will always be a little light shining. The music and its absence is so touching. The main soundtrack title was sung by Eloise, and it sounds just wonderful.

F: It's so well written, so well told; the cast and their performances are amazing. It's a must watch for me. I was gripped to the very last scene; an absolutely brilliant and silent; breathtaking scene. Me and Krasnya had to go for a walk to ease up from the impression the movie had on us. Yep, it's a really, really great movie.

Watch the inspiring director Rufus Norris talk about his movie:

K: This movie is hard to describe for me, but it's worth a watch. This is a story that feels real and that can happen anywhere at any time. This movie can teach you a lot, and I think we need to add Broken to our DVD collection Freddy.

F: We sure do Krasnaya. The moments of despair and darkness in this movie are so strong, I had my feet and hands clenching in some scenes. The highest quality of suspense is present. I can't remember the last time I felt so incredibly curious about what was going to happen or the direction a movie would take.

Freddy's Score: 92/100
