The Blue Room (French: La Chambre bleue) is a 2014 French erotic thriller film directed by and starring Mathieu Amalric. It is based on a novel by Georges Simenon. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.

A man and a woman, secretly in love, alone in a room. They desire each other, want each other, and even bite each other. In the afterglow, they share a few sweet nothings. At least the man seemed to believe they were nothing. Now under investigation by the police and the courts, what is he accused of?


F: Erotic? meh. Thrilling? meh. Worth the watch? meh.

F: The best thing in the movie is it's length, short, it doesn't hurt and it has enough time to show us some titties.

F: Those guys were such exhibitionists, everyone in that city knew that they were having an affair; just look at the picture below. I like the way the movie ends though, it leaves you with some questions. Was it the old lady who killed Julien's wife? That would be a smart move. Meh.

Frank Oz: From Worst to Best

I've finished my Frank Oz filmography a while back and hadn't had the time to post here the rank and some thoughts about his work. Let's try to refresh my memory and give you some of my opinions... man. Frank Oz is a true legend. At 81, he's not just a brilliant filmmaker but also a puppeteer and writer whose characters, from the Muppets to Sesame Street, have touched countless lives. His directing career is full of outstanding, entertaining movies; out of 14 films, there's really only one rotten apple in the bunch. I'm not sure if he's planning to make any more movies, but I'd love to see him try his hand at a serious drama, just to see him flex a different creative muscle.
