***SPOILER ALERT***

F: Hiya everyone! Here is the best movie of the week so far. "I'm Your Man" is a film that explores the complexities and possibilities of a romantic relationship between a human and a robot in a very humorous way. The movie presents a future where experts are asked to evaluate the capabilities of these robots as potential partners and raises questions about the role of technology in human connection and the definition of what it means to be human. Dan Stevens absolutely nails his role as Tom, his nuanced robotic behavior is just perfect and makes for a truly hilarious and memorable performance. Maren Eggert is also great as Alma, the broken yet self-assured woman who just wants a little bit of love and healing. Together, they make for a dynamic and entertaining duo that'll have you laughing and swooning at the same time.

Oops!
F: I say, why bother with the mess and drama of dating a human when you can have a robot that's programmed to prioritize your needs above all else? Who needs actual human contact when we can just clone ourselves and fill hospitals or laboratories with copies? Or better yet, we can stick our sperm or our eggs inside our robotic partners!  they'll be just like us, except without all the pesky biological processes and stupid feelings. But seriously, what is it that makes us human? From what I learned from this movie is that it is our flaws.

The soundtrack for the film, featuring the music of Bremer/Mcoy, is a highlight of the movie. Make sure to listen closely to that double bass, particularly in the poignant moment when Tom departs for the "factory". The song used in this scene, "DrΓΈmmer," perfectly captures the sadness and beauty of the moment. If you want to fully experience the emotional impact of the scene, be sure to give the song a listen here.

I also enjoyed the final scene very much; Alma recalls the kiss that never came from the real Tom, this moment captures the confusion and complexity of her relationship with the non-breathing humanoid. I think it serves as a metaphor for the unique challenges and emotions she experiences while trying to form an intimate connection with the machine.

This is why we will be exterminated after the Singularity.
F: If you are fascinated by the concept of AI like me, "I'm Your Man" is a film that you must watch. It portrays a future that is not too far off, and after interacting with language models like GPT, it is easy to see how quickly these ideas could become a reality. As technology advances, it is possible that we will have to grapple with the question of whether or not it is acceptable to form emotional bonds with artificial beings. Would you be willing to commit your love and allow yourself to be loved in return by a machine? "I'm Your Man" will encourage you to consider these complex and challenging ideas.

PS: There's also a great "Fail"  video collection in there! I'm a big Fail Army fan and I've never seen those ones, they are hilarious!!! (check video below)

Frank Oz: From Worst to Best

I've finished my Frank Oz filmography a while back and hadn't had the time to post here the rank and some thoughts about his work. Let's try to refresh my memory and give you some of my opinions... man. Frank Oz is a true legend. At 81, he's not just a brilliant filmmaker but also a puppeteer and writer whose characters, from the Muppets to Sesame Street, have touched countless lives. His directing career is full of outstanding, entertaining movies; out of 14 films, there's really only one rotten apple in the bunch. I'm not sure if he's planning to make any more movies, but I'd love to see him try his hand at a serious drama, just to see him flex a different creative muscle. I wouldn't like to be that famous, I value my privacy. Mind you, Miss Piggy enjoys every moment of it. If it were not for me, she would spend all her time in the limelight. Frank OZ This is his entire fi...

Top 5 - Luc Besson

Hey everyone, and welcome back! While I've been posting regularly, it took me a little while to wrap up my thoughts on Luc Besson's filmography and put together this top 5 video. It's been 384 days since my last post on this topic, so I know this video is long overdue, but I hope you'll agree that it was worth the wait! Video Format: For the Visual Film Lovers For those who prefer watching over reading, this video is an easy-to-digest introduction to Luc Besson's movies. I've been wrestling with how to present my thoughts on a director whose career, for me, went from "CinΓ©ma du look" to "cinema don't look." I apologize for the monotonous AI voice in the video; I'm just not that comfortable speaking English with my accent just yet. But...
