The Incredible Burt Wonderstone is a 2013 American comedy film directed by Don Scardino and written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, based on a story by Chad Kultgen & Tyler Mitchell, and Daley & Goldstein. It stars Steve Carell, Steve Buscemi and Jim Carrey. It also features Alan Arkin, Olivia Wilde and James Gandolfini.
Superstar magicians Burt Wonderstone and Anton Marvelton have ruled the Las Vegas Strip for years, raking in millions with illusions as big as Burt's growing ego. But lately the duo's greatest deception is their public friendship, while secretly they've grown to loathe each other. Facing cutthroat competition from guerrilla street magician Steve Gray, whose cult following surges with each outrageous stunt, even their show is starting to look stale. But there's still a chance Burt and Anton can save the act - both onstage and off - if only Burt can get back in touch with what made him love magic in the first place.
***SPOILER ALERT***
I haven't enjoyed many of the movies where Steve Carell is the protagonist, but this extremely egocentric character is absolutely hilarious!
Not the most original plot but I see this type of comedy as a sketch show, so it was great! The only thing that really sucked about this movie was the music; they decided to use every song used in Portuguese TV commercials.
