Housebound (2014)

Housebound is a 2014 New Zealand comedy horror film that was written and directed by Gerard Johnstone, and his feature film directorial debut. The film had its world premiere on March 10, 2014 at South by Southwest and stars Morgana O'Reilly as a woman sentenced to house arrest in a potentially haunted house. Johnstone was first inspired to create a horror film after watching Ghosthunters on television and received additional inspiration from classic films such as The Changeling and The Legend of Hell House.

Kylie Bucknell is forced to return to the house she grew up in when the court places her on home detention. However, when she too becomes privy to unsettling whispers & strange bumps in the night, she begins to wonder whether she's inherited her overactive imagination, or if the house is in fact possessed by a hostile spirit who's less than happy about the new living arrangement.

This looks like it was made by a guy who saw a couple of horror-comedy movies and immediately decided to make a movie of his own.
