Edge of Tomorrow (also marketed with the tagline Live Die Repeat) is a 2014 American science fiction film starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. Doug Liman directed the film based on a screenplay adapted from the Japanese light novel All You Need Is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. Cruise, known for performing his own stunts in his films, also did so in Edge of Tomorrow. Nine companies handled the visual effects for Edge of Tomorrow under visual effects supervisor Nick Davis. Composer Christophe Beck scored Edge of Tomorrow. Beck was a late addition to the film, taking over from Ramin Djawadi, Liman's first choice to replace his frequent collaborator John Powell, who was taking a sabbatical year from composing film music.
A military officer is brought into an alien war against an extraterrestrial enemy who can reset the day and know the future. When this officer is enabled with the same power, he teams up with a Special Forces warrior to try and end the war.
***SPOILER ALERT***
I predicted that this was going to be a very predictable movie. I bet most of the fans of the novel are pissed.
Yep, it's Groundhog Day mixed with Starship Troopers. It's probably happening in a Scientology book somewhere too.
